August Gym Updates

LightHouse Programming

I want to brag about the program brielfy beofre the updates. Many of you arer at all time strgnth records.

Many of you are in the best shape of your life, for some of you this is after decades of working out. Everyone that spent any significant time in the program has reached new lifetime PRs (Personal Records / Confetti).

If you have been here longer than 3 months and don’t feel like you are in the best shape of your life, or on your way to it, let’s talk. I’ll put a link below to schedule a meeting so we can discuss your progress. I do truly mean the best shape of your life, for strength and conditioning. Even though we do not run or do conditioning (outside of HYROX) you are all capable of endurance activities with some specific training. Your strength foundation is what would allow you to get though that training, and likely without discomfort or injury.

This is a pat on your back though, all we did was provide a place and a program for you to get there. You put in the work to get where you are and get that confetti. Progress can feel slow at times but follow the plan and reflect on it once in a while and see where you have gone.

What is your health worth to you?

I know everything in life is more expensive, and it feels like prices increase daily. Just since the last gym updates our garbage, internet service, and website hosting have all unexpectedly increased. All of these increases while service and the overall quality of things decrease around us. I think LightHouse breaks that mold and tries to continue to provide a high value service. The problem is the economics of high value, low cost does not work. For reference a comparable product to us (co-ed weightlifting gym, found in larger markets) is at or above $400 a month depending on their market. In general, boutique fitness (Pilates, F45, etc.) is over $20 a session, and often closer to $30 a session.

At the end of the day this is primarily our problem, but what will you do without LightHouse? Will you keep up with your training? I know the increase seems significant for some of you but what is your health worth? Does your car payment provide as much value to your life as LightHouse? What does the daily coffee out do for you vs making it at home?

Again, it’s our problem we priced so long to get started but what we are asking for is just a fight for break-even. No one is buying a yacht off of this. I work every day, most of you see what I drive. I do all of this to try to get the gym to a stable place. I’ve worked 2 jobs just about daily since we opened this, often times construction is paying for the gym. It’s unsustainable, and unfair to my family. We should really be north of $300 for what the quality of the program, but I genuinely care about all of my clients and I want them to continue training forever

here is a lot I’d like to say but I’ll mall business is difficult, we are definitely not where we hoped we would be at this point. As we come up on year 3 here in Surf City we need to make some adjustments in an effort to improve business metrics. We want to grow and be able to provide you with this service for many years to come. We want to employ more people and be able to invest in their growth. We want to be able to provide this service to ladies beyond the Surf City area. We really want to keep as many people out of the sick care system as possible, and we can’t currently do that where we are as a business right now.
